This week, we want to take a moment to recognize our school psychologist, Lenae Kaus. We truly appreciate her and all that she contributes to our district. School psychologists provide direct support and interventions for students. They partner closely with teachers, families, and other mental health professionals within the school, including counselors and social workers, to improve support strategies. They also work alongside school administrators to enhance practices and policies, and they connect with community service providers to make sure essential services are accessible.

National First Responders Day honors those who dedicate their lives to saving others. While most people may run away from danger, first responders bravely rush toward it. According to the Department of Homeland Security, there are approximately 4.6 million career and volunteer first responders across the nation. These individuals include firefighters, police officers, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), paramedics, and 911 operators. In times of emergency, they are the first to arrive on the scene, selflessly answering the call to assist others, often at great personal risk.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our custodians who tirelessly ensure that our schools remain clean and safe for all students. Their hard work often goes unnoticed, but they play a crucial role in keeping everything running smoothly. We couldn’t achieve this without their dedication. They truly make our buildings shine, and we take great pride in that.
We will have our "Once a Dragon Always a Dragon" shirts available for those parents who attended the Back to School Blast and provided shirt sizes. We will have a table set up in the Hall of Fame section of the High School where you will be able to pick up those shirts.
Thanks,
USD 440
